1. Introduction

Welcome to Typen, a blogging platform for creating, publishing, managing, and reading independent blogs.

These Terms of Service govern your use of Typen, including accounts, blogs, posts, comments, uploaded media, collaborators, themes, analytics, custom domains, APIs, integrations, and AI features where available.

By creating or using an account, creating a blog, commenting, publishing content, or otherwise using account-based features, you agree to these Terms.

Reading publicly available blogs does not require an account.

These Terms should be read together with our:

Privacy Policy;
Cookie & Local Storage Policy;
Acceptable Use & Content Policy;
Illegal Content, Copyright & Trademark Reporting Policy; and
Cleo & AI Policy.

2. Alpha Service

Typen is currently a Alpha service.

During Alpha:

features may be incomplete or experimental;
interfaces may change;
features may be introduced, renamed, restricted, or removed;
usage limits may change;
some planned features may not yet be available;
experimental Pro features may temporarily be available without charge.

Typen is currently provided free of charge and does not currently offer paid plans or accept payments.

Although the Service is in Alpha, we treat user blogs and content as real production data. We do not intentionally reset or delete blogs merely because the Service is in Alpha.

However, no online service can guarantee that accidental data loss will never occur. You should keep copies of important content.

3. Accounts

You need an account to create or manage blogs and to perform account-based actions such as commenting.

Typen may automatically create an account the first time you successfully log in.

Authentication may include:

email-based login;
Google OAuth;
GitHub OAuth;
other supported authentication methods.

We aim to collect only information reasonably necessary to operate the Service.

You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for activity performed through your account.

You must not access another person's account without permission or impersonate another person or organization.

4. Age Requirements

Anyone may read public blogs unless particular content is restricted by law or an age-access feature.

You must generally be at least 14 years old to own a Typen account.

If you are under 18, you confirm that you have permission from your parent or legal guardian where such permission is required by applicable law.

We do not normally collect dates of birth.

5. Blogs

Users may create public blogs through Typen.

Blogs may be excluded from some Typen discovery or activity pages, but this does not necessarily make the blog private.

Unless a feature specifically provides password protection or another access restriction, you should assume that:

posts are public;
uploaded media may be accessible through direct URLs;
anyone who obtains a public URL may access it.

6. Publishing

Typen supports publishing features including:

Markdown;
images;
supported embeds such as YouTube;
uploaded files;
supported custom content blocks.

Users are not given unrestricted permission to execute arbitrary JavaScript, HTML, iframes, tracking scripts, or similar code.

We may sanitize, transform, reject, or remove submitted content for security, compatibility, legal, or technical reasons.

7. Uploaded Files

Users may attach supported files and images to posts.

Uploaded files may be hosted at addresses such as:

media.typen.blog/...

Unless a specific access-control feature says otherwise, these files should be considered publicly accessible to anyone who obtains their URL.

You must not use Typen to distribute malware, malicious files, stolen information, or other prohibited content.

Reasonable storage limits may apply and may change as the Service evolves.

8. Unlimited Posts and Fair Use

Typen may describe normal blogging as having unlimited posts.

This means there is no ordinary fixed post-count limit for legitimate human blogging.

It does not permit:

automated mass posting;
spam;
deliberately generating huge numbers of meaningless posts;
resource exhaustion;
attempts to bypass reasonable usage limits.

For example, repeatedly generating thousands of posts per day solely to consume infrastructure may result in warnings or suspension.

9. Comments

Logged-in users may comment where comments are enabled.

Comment authors may edit or delete their own comments.

Blog owners and authorized collaborators may remove comments from blogs they manage.

Comments remain subject to our Acceptable Use & Content Policy.

10. Collaborators

Blog owners may invite collaborators.

Permissions may include:

Manage Blog

Edit blog settings and appearance.

Manage Tags

Create, edit, and delete tags.

Create Posts

Write and publish new posts.

Delete Posts

Delete posts.

Additional roles or permissions may be introduced later.

Collaborators cannot delete the entire blog unless such a permission is explicitly introduced.

Each blog has one primary owner.

Ownership transfers may be handled through support.

11. Subdomains

Blogs may use a typen.blog subdomain.

Users do not own the underlying typen.blog domain.

We may reserve, reject, rename, reclaim, suspend, or block subdomains where reasonably necessary because of:

infringement;
impersonation;
misleading identity;
security;
abuse;
legal requirements;
prohibited content;
operational problems;
prolonged inactivity after reasonable attempts to contact the owner.

A trademark appearing in a subdomain does not automatically mean that the subdomain will be removed.

Where there is a legitimate dispute, we may ask the parties for information, restrict the name temporarily, or comply with a binding legal decision.

12. Custom Domains

Eligible users may connect domains they own or control.

Typen does not sell or register those domains.

Connection may require:

TXT verification;
CNAME records;
CNAME flattening;
other DNS configuration.

We may automatically provision TLS certificates.

You remain responsible for your domain registration and external DNS configuration.

When access to a custom-domain feature ends, the domain may temporarily redirect to the corresponding typen.blog blog before eventually stopping.

No specific redirect period is guaranteed.

13. User Content

You retain ownership of your content.

You grant Typen a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, transmit, cache, display, and distribute your content where reasonably necessary to:

operate your blog;
display content to visitors;
provide RSS feeds;
generate metadata;
provide analytics;
provide enabled Cleo features;
maintain backups;
secure the Service;
prevent abuse;
comply with law.

This license does not transfer ownership of your content to us.

14. Public Content

Anything you publish publicly may be:

viewed;
linked;
copied;
indexed;
cached;
screenshotted;
archived;
redistributed by third parties.

Do not publish confidential or private information unless you have the right to do so and intend it to be public.

15. RSS

Public blogs may provide RSS feeds such as:

yourblog.typen.blog/rss.xml

External applications may access public RSS feeds.

RSS availability and formats may change.

16. Themes and Branding

Themes, templates, platform UI, software, branding, and other design assets supplied by Typen remain owned by Typen, Martin Mátyás Binder, or applicable licensors.

They may be used as part of a Typen blog but may not be extracted, redistributed, resold, or reused outside the Service without permission.

Free blogs may include:

a "Powered by Typen" footer;
a Typen navigation icon;
Typen branding.

17. Alpha Pro

During Alpha, experimental Pro features may be available for free.

Alpha Pro:

is not a paid subscription;
does not guarantee future free access;
may exclude branding removal;
currently does not include Cleo unless stated otherwise;
may change before commercial launch.

How Alpha users transition to any future paid plans will be announced separately.

18. Paid Pro

Paid Pro is not currently available as a paid subscription.

Typen is currently provided free of charge during Alpha.

If paid plans are introduced later, pricing and applicable terms will be shown before purchase.

19. Refunds

Typen does not currently accept payments, so no refund policy currently applies.

Any future refund terms will be published before paid services become available.

20. Payments

Typen does not currently accept payments.

If payment processing is introduced later, the applicable provider, payment terms, and privacy information will be published before payments become available.

21. Analytics

Blog owners may receive aggregate analytics including:

page views;
visitor counts;
approximate country information;
content performance.

Blog owners are not given raw visitor IP addresses or personally identified visitor profiles through the built-in analytics feature.

Analytics may be approximate.

22. Cleo

Cleo is an optional AI-assisted reading feature.

It is disabled by default unless explicitly stated otherwise.

When enabled, article text may be processed through a third-party AI provider to create reading tours, highlights, and explanations.

23. APIs

A public API is not currently guaranteed.

We may later introduce APIs, webhooks, integrations, and developer features subject to separate limits or terms.

Public RSS feeds do not provide access to private account information.

24. Moderation

We do not promise to proactively review every blog, post, comment, or file.

We may become aware of content through:

reports;
support requests;
our own observations;
authorities;
security systems;
automated or AI-assisted flagging where introduced.

Measures may include:

warnings;
removal of specific content;
file restrictions;
blog restrictions;
feature restrictions;
suspension;
account termination.

Where required, we will explain moderation decisions and available options for challenging them.

25. Illegal Content Reporting

Allegedly illegal content can be reported through:

26. Security

You must not:

attack the Service;
bypass access controls;
exploit systems without authorization;
deliberately overload infrastructure;
distribute malware;
evade rate limits;
interfere with other users.

Security issues may be reported to:

27. Account Deletion

Users may request deletion through supported support channels.

We may verify a request before performing an irreversible deletion.

Users may request an export before deletion.

Once deletion is performed, account and blog data are intended to be permanently removed from active systems.

Some records may remain where required for:

security;
fraud prevention;
legal obligations;
disputes.

Backup copies are handled according to:

28. Service Availability

We try to keep Typen available and reliable but provide no uptime SLA unless separately agreed in writing.

Outages, bugs, infrastructure failures, third-party failures, or accidental data loss may occur.

Keep copies of important content.

Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot legally be excluded.

29. Service Shutdown

If Typen permanently shuts down, we aim where reasonably possible to give users approximately 30 days' notice and an opportunity to request or download their content.

This may not be possible where immediate shutdown results from:

legal requirements;
emergencies;
security issues;
insolvency;
infrastructure failure;
circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may provide exports in formats such as HTML.

30. Changes

Typen will continue evolving.

Free and Alpha features may change frequently.

If paid services are introduced in the future, changes affecting those services will remain subject to applicable consumer and contract law.

For significant changes to these Terms, we may notify users through email, dashboard notices, website notices, or another reasonable method.

31. Intellectual Property

The Typen platform, software, themes, logos, UI, APIs, and branding belong to Martin Mátyás Binder or applicable licensors.

Using the Service does not transfer these rights to you.

32. Third-Party Services

The Service may depend on providers for:

hosting;
storage;
email;
analytics;
authentication;
AI processing;
DNS;
CAPTCHA;
security.

Third-party outages may affect the Service.

33. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Typen is provided on an "as available" basis.

We do not guarantee that:

every feature will remain available;
analytics will always be exact;
AI output will always be correct;
bugs will never occur;
accidental data loss is impossible.

Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

34. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Subject to applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

35. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

your published content;
having the necessary rights to that content;
your custom domains;
collaborators you invite;
legal obligations applying to your own blog;
maintaining important backups.
